Midnight Ceramic is Nashville's premium ceramic coating specialist — three- and five-year tiers on high-end German and Italian vehicles. Owner Jasmine Cole built the business on craft (her two-stage paint correction work is locally famous) but struggled to keep the calendar full year-round.
The problem was repeat work. A five-year ceramic coating is a one-and-done install — no natural reason for the customer to come back until year three or four when they need a recoat. Without an active reminder system, those customers walked into a competitor for their next coating.
Jasmine had tried Mailchimp email reminders. Open rates were 18%, click-throughs were 2%. Nobody booked from them.
SalesThumb's automated recoating reminders go via SMS — opt-in at the time of install, then a sequence of nudges starting at the coating's tier-appropriate recoat window (e.g. month 30 for a three-year coating). Each nudge includes a one-tap booking link that lands in the customer's portal.
The aftercare SMS sequence Jasmine deploys: day 1 (post-install care), day 7 (first-week check-in), month 1 (early sign of issues?), then quiet until the recoat window starts.
Results after six months:
- Repeat revenue went from 12% of monthly take to 40%. That's not a typo — recoating + aftercare-driven cross-sells became the steady revenue base.
- Aftercare opt-in is 92%. Almost everyone who books opts into the sequence at quote time.
- Recoating bookings went from 8 per month (organic) to 31 per month (driven by reminders).
- Customers feel cared-for, and the 5-star Google reviews show it: 47 new reviews in six months, almost all mentioning the aftercare experience.
"My customers feel like a premium service did the work," Jasmine said. "Because every touchpoint after the install is intentional."
