Atlas Tint is one of Houston's largest aftermarket tint shops — three bays, four installers, a steady flow of high-end Tesla and PPF crossover work. Owner Mike Reyes ran the shop on ShopMonkey for two years, supplemented by a separate quoting app, a Google Sheet for film roll inventory, and a SMS reply tree that lived in his personal phone.
It worked until it didn't. Quotes took 12 minutes apiece because the operator had to look up film prices in the spreadsheet, manually compute window-set pricing, then re-enter everything in ShopMonkey. Inventory was reconciled monthly — usually with a 3-5% shrinkage that nobody could explain. Customer communication ran through three different threads (ShopMonkey reminders, the SMS replies in Mike's phone, occasional emails) with no unified history.
In Q1 2026, Mike's front-desk operator quit and the replacement couldn't get up to speed on the stack. That forced the migration conversation.
The Atlas team evaluated four alternatives and chose SalesThumb because the film catalog, window-set pricing, and roll inventory worked out of the box — no consultant required to make tint workflows function. Migration ran on a Saturday: customers imported via CSV (840 records, 1,200 vehicles), services configured by the SalesThumb onboarding coordinator, and the first quote went out on Sunday afternoon.
Three months in, the results were clear:
- Quotes drop in 4 minutes instead of 12 — the operator picks the film tier and vehicle class, SalesThumb generates the priced quote with tax, deposit, and warranty terms baked in.
- Close rate moved from 64% to 76% — Smart Pricing flagged that Mike was under-charging Front 2 Ceramic by 8%; he ran a 14-day A/B test, applied the raise, and his close rate held while revenue per quote went up.
- Admin time dropped roughly 6 hours per week — the SMS replies now route to the unified inbox where any operator can pick up the thread, photos auto-attach to the customer record, and the warranty PDFs generate themselves on job completion.
- Film shrinkage went from ~4% to under 1% because every roll is checked in by length and auto-deducted on completion.
"The biggest win wasn't any single feature," Mike said. "It was that everything just lives in one place now. My new front-desk hire was productive on day 2."
Atlas Tint is now exploring SalesThumb HQ to roll out a second location in The Woodlands in Q3.
