Migrating from TintWiz to SalesThumb is one of the cleanest migrations we support. TintWiz exports include rich customer + vehicle + warranty + photo data, and SalesThumb's importer maps it natively.
Before you start
You'll need:
- TintWiz admin login
- Your SalesThumb shop set up (onboarding wizard complete)
- 90 minutes of uninterrupted time
- Your current TintWiz subscription is paid through this billing cycle (no need to cancel yet — we'll do that at the end)
Step 1 — Export from TintWiz
In TintWiz, go to Settings → Account → Export Data. Click "Run Full Export". You'll receive an email within 30-90 minutes with a download link containing:
- customers.csv
- vehicles.csv
- jobs.csv
- warranty.csv
- photos.zip
Download everything to a single folder.
Step 2 — Import customers + vehicles
In SalesThumb: Settings → Import → TintWiz Bundle. Upload the entire TintWiz export folder (or zip the contents and upload as one file).
SalesThumb's TintWiz importer is purpose-built for this — it understands the TintWiz schema and auto-maps:
- TintWiz customer ID → SalesThumb customer ID (kept consistent for cross-references)
- TintWiz vehicle records → SalesThumb vehicle records
- TintWiz job history → SalesThumb invoice history (historical)
- TintWiz warranty records → SalesThumb warranty records (with original install dates preserved)
- TintWiz photos → SalesThumb photo gallery (linked to the original customer + vehicle)
A typical 500-customer TintWiz shop's bundle imports in 4-8 minutes.
Step 3 — Service catalog
TintWiz services don't auto-import (different tier model). You'll set up your service catalog manually in SalesThumb during the onboarding wizard.
The fastest path: use SalesThumb's "Tint Shop Starter Catalog" template. It comes pre-loaded with the top 18 tint services (front pair, full sedan, full SUV, full truck, ceramic upgrade tiers, removal, etc.) at sensible default pricing. Customize the prices to match yours — takes 10-15 minutes.
Step 4 — Warranty record verification
Warranty migration is the highest-stakes part of any tint shop migration. After import:
1. Open SalesThumb → Warranty → All Records 2. Filter to the last 12 months 3. Spot-check 10-15 records against TintWiz 4. Confirm: install date, film brand/lot, customer name, vehicle, warranty term
If anything is off, contact info@roffik.com immediately — we'll re-run that segment.
Step 5 — Photos
TintWiz photos arrive in SalesThumb tagged by customer + vehicle. Open any customer profile to verify their photo gallery is intact. Photos retain their original filenames and metadata.
Step 6 — Validate before canceling TintWiz
Spot-check before canceling:
- Customer count matches (within 1-2%)
- Top 50 customers' warranty records present
- Photo gallery on 10 random customers populated correctly
- Last week's job history visible in customer profiles
Step 7 — Run parallel for 14 days
Same as our other migration paths: run SalesThumb as primary for 14 days, keep TintWiz as read-only backup. After 14 days, cancel TintWiz.
TintWiz vs SalesThumb — the practical differences
- Warranty workflow: SalesThumb auto-generates a public warranty card for every install with a customer-facing QR-codeable URL. TintWiz workflow is print-and-hand.
- Customer portal: SalesThumb gives every customer a magic-link portal showing their vehicle history, photos, warranty card, and rebook button. TintWiz doesn't.
- Photo capture: SalesThumb's installer mobile app guides photo capture (required shots, optional shots) at each job stage. TintWiz photos are operator-discretion.
- Quoting: SalesThumb offers good/better/best tier quoting with deposit collection. TintWiz is single-tier with separate deposit handling.
Most TintWiz migrants tell us the warranty card + customer portal are the two surprises they didn't expect to love.
