Stripe-powered, industry-low fees.
Payments in SalesThumb ride on Stripe Connect — the same rails Shopify, Lyft, and Instacart use — with a 0.3% platform fee that is always disclosed on the invoice. Pay links go out over SMS, open on the phone with Apple Pay and Google Pay above the fold, and tap-through in three seconds. Refunds, deposits, partial pays, disputes, and payouts all live in one dashboard. Connect your bank once; funds settle in two business days automatically. No Square terminal reconciliation. No Venmo screenshots. No "can you send me a text when it goes through?"

The pay link that closes in three seconds
We send the pay link as a short tokenized URL over SMS or email. The customer taps once and lands on a page designed for one job: collect the money. Apple Pay and Google Pay sit above the fold, the card form is below, and the Stripe logo at the bottom signals trust. There is no account creation, no app install, no "forgot password." Payment triggers an Apple Pay / Face-ID handshake, money settles, and you get a push notification: "✓ $699 from Sarah K." The whole flow averages under 8 seconds, end to end.
- Short tokenized URL (pay.salesthumb.com/INV-01310) — works on any phone
- Apple Pay + Google Pay + Link wallets supported
- Card form with autofill, CVC, ZIP — no login barrier
- Tip selector (10/15/20/custom) auto-applied to the invoice
- Receipt auto-sent to the customer after success

Deposits without the awkward conversation
Your quote requires a deposit? It's baked into the approval flow. Customer reviews the tiers, picks one, and the deposit payment field is already pre-filled on the same page. One tap, $250 on your account, booking slot locks, quote marked approved. If they back out, you cancel the quote and the deposit refunds in one click — with a reason code for your records. No "let me Venmo you when I get home" promise that never lands.
- Deposit required on quote approval (flat, %, or per-service)
- Customer sees the deposit amount before they commit — transparent pricing
- Auto-refund policy: cancel within 24h = full refund, configurable per shop
- Deposit auto-credits to the invoice on job completion
- No-show policy: forfeit or refund — choose your default

Refunds that take four seconds, not four days
Every transaction is refundable from the payment detail screen. Pick the payment, tap Refund, enter full or partial amount, pick a reason, and Stripe issues the refund immediately. The customer sees the refund hit their card within 5-10 days (bank-side), and your invoice + ledger update in real time. If it's a partial refund tied to a change order, SalesThumb auto-generates a credit memo for your records.
- Full or partial refunds on any card transaction
- Reason codes: customer request, scope change, cancellation, duplicate
- Auto-generated credit memo for accounting
- Refunds sync to QuickBooks as separate GL lines
- Approval required for refunds over $X (configurable per shop)

Fees on the invoice, never in the fine print
Every invoice footer shows the fee breakdown: Stripe's 2.9% + $0.30, our 0.3% platform fee, and the net to your bank. Your customer never sees it (unless you opt to pass fees on — which we also support, with clear customer messaging). You see the line-item breakdown on every payment, every payout, and every monthly statement. No "processing fee" mystery charges. No "premium plan" markup that competitors love to hide.
- Line-item fee breakdown on every transaction
- Monthly payout statement with gross / fee / net per day
- Optional "pass fees to customer" mode (legal in most states)
- No monthly minimum, no PCI fee, no batch fee, no statement fee
- 1099-K auto-generated by Stripe at year-end

Who it's for
Built specifically for…
- Shops still running Square Terminal at the counter + Venmo for deposits
- Owners tired of paying "processing fee" markups on top of Stripe rates
- Anyone who's eaten a $1,200 chargeback because they had no evidence packet
- Multi-location shops that need per-shop bank accounts and payouts
- Installers who want their tips to hit the invoice, not a jar on the counter
What it replaces
The old way…
- Square Terminal + separate Venmo / Zelle for deposits
- "Click here to pay" links from QuickBooks, Wave, or FreshBooks
- PayPal invoices with 3.49% + $0.49 fees
- Competitor SaaS with 1-2% platform markups hidden in "Pro plan"
- Manual reconciliation spreadsheets at month-end
How it works
Set it up once. Run it forever.
- 1
Connect Stripe once
Two-minute Stripe Connect onboarding during shop setup. Funds land in your bank account on Stripe's standard schedule.
- 2
Collect from anywhere
Pay links, card reader at the counter, deposits on the public booking page, tips on mobile invoices — all feed the same ledger.
- 3
Transparent fees
Our 0.3% platform fee is printed on every invoice — no hidden markup. Competitors charge 1-2% on top of Stripe. We don't.
How a shop actually uses this
Invoice goes out via text. Customer taps the pay link, Apple Pays in 3 seconds, you get a push notification: '✓ $699 from Sarah K. — Sample Shop LLC.' The payment is reconciled automatically against the invoice. No QuickBooks export. No Square dashboard. No sticky notes.
Questions
Good to know.
- What if I want to use my own payment processor?
- We support Stripe Connect as the primary rail today. ACH is native via Stripe. Custom processors are on the Enterprise roadmap — ping us.
- How fast do funds arrive?
- 2-business-day standard (Stripe's default) or instant payout for a 1.5% Stripe fee. Configure per shop.
- What happens if a customer disputes a charge?
- Stripe notifies us, we notify you in-app, and our evidence builder auto-packages the invoice, quote, signed approval, photos, and SMS thread. You review and submit — most disputes resolve in your favor when evidence is clean.
- Can I pass Stripe fees on to the customer?
- Yes. Toggle it per shop. The customer sees a "card processing fee" line item at checkout (legal in most US states). We'll warn you if your state restricts it.
- Do you support card readers at the counter?
- Yes — Stripe Terminal (tap-to-pay on iPhone, no hardware needed) or a BBPOS Chipper reader for $59. Counter payments land on the same invoice as online payments, reconciled automatically.
- What about tips?
- Every card payment prompts a tip selector (10/15/20/custom) at checkout. Tips land on a separate ledger line (QuickBooks account 2100 · Tips Payable), trackable per installer for end-of-week payout.
