Film roll tracking that actually knows what's on the shelf.
Inventory is the most painful process in a tint or PPF shop — and the one every other SaaS gets wrong. SalesThumb tracks rolls the way you actually use them: by length remaining, by batch, by the installer that cut from them, linked to the customer and vehicle they went on. Receive a shipment, print QR stickers, stick them on. Scan before you cut, deduct on job close. When a roll dips below your threshold, you get the alert before you're mid-install asking the customer to wait. Warranty-grade batch traceability is free and automatic — every cert prints the exact roll its film came from.
Launching soon — get early access.

A rolls list that tells you what to reorder today
The inventory home isn't a SKU list — it's a priority queue. Rolls below threshold float to the top with a red chip. Rolls running out this week get an amber chip. Everything else is sorted by last-used. One glance and you know: order XPEL Prime XR 70 today, 3M Ceramic IR 35 tomorrow, everything else is fine. Column-level filters for brand, vertical (tint / PPF / ceramic), shop location, batch recall status.
- Priority-queue sort: out-of-stock → low → last-used
- Color-coded low-stock column visible at a glance
- Brand / vertical / location filters on every view
- Batch recall flagging (manufacturer pulls a batch → flagged across shops)
- Export CSV for accountant or supplier re-order

Every roll is a story: who cut from it, for whom
Click any roll and you see its full history: received date, batch, supplier, cost basis, every deduction ever made — with the appointment, vehicle, customer, and installer tied to each cut. If a customer calls 3 years later with a warranty issue, you pull the roll, see the batch, check the install photos, and know exactly who did the work. Zero paper trail, zero guesswork.
- Full usage history with appointment + vehicle + customer + installer
- Cost basis + supplier + received date + batch number
- Linked warranty certificates (every cert reverse-links to its roll)
- Waste tracking per installer — surface messy cutters
- Undo a bad deduction with full audit trail

Mobile QR scanning that takes 2 seconds
Tech walks to the roll, opens the installer app, taps Scan, points the camera, sees the remaining length before making the cut. After the install, they enter inches used (or scan the offcut to measure), system auto-deducts. If there's no QR yet, print one from the mobile app and stick it on. The whole workflow takes less time than the current 'go check the shelf, yell across the shop, write it on a whiteboard' ritual.
- QR scan from installer app → instant length readout
- Deduct inches with a slider or keypad
- Print a new QR sticker in-shop (Brother or generic label printer)
- Scan-before-cut enforcement (optional) — every job must scan
- Offline-safe: scans queue if the shop wifi is flaky

Low-stock alerts that fire before you're stuck
You set a threshold per SKU — "alert me when XPEL Prime XR 70 drops below 120 inches." When the threshold trips, you get a push notification + SMS with the SKU, the current remaining, the supplier, and a 1-tap reorder link. You also see a 7-day projection: based on the last 30 days' burn rate, this roll runs out on Friday. You reorder Tuesday. Crisis averted.
- Per-SKU thresholds with SMS + push + email alerts
- 7-day burn-rate projection on every low-stock card
- 1-tap reorder with supplier deep link (XPEL, 3M, Glacier)
- Alert routing — warehouse manager vs. owner vs. front desk
- Snooze + dismiss + escalate (if ignored for 24h)

Who it's for
Built specifically for…
- Tint shops running more than 2 brands who've lost a cert to a batch recall
- PPF / wrap shops that weigh film rolls to estimate yield
- Ceramic coating shops tracking bottles by ounce, not eyeball
- Multi-location businesses that share inventory across shops
- Owners who've been burned by mid-install stockouts (and lost the customer)
What it replaces
The old way…
- A whiteboard with tally marks that lies to you
- A Google Sheet that nobody updates past Wednesday
- "I think we have enough" — the five most expensive words in a tint shop
- Paper warranty cards filed by hand with film-batch on the back
- Calling the supplier at 4:30 PM asking if same-day shipping is still a thing
How it works
Set it up once. Run it forever.
- 1
Receive with a QR
Receive a new roll into inventory: enter length, batch, cost, and print a QR sticker. Stick on the roll — it's now tracked.
- 2
Scan at the job
Tech scans the roll's QR before cutting. System logs which roll was used on which job — critical for warranty claims.
- 3
Deduct on completion
Mark appointment complete, enter inches used, inventory updates in real-time. COGS per job updates in reporting.
How a shop actually uses this
Friday morning you pull a tint roll off the shelf, scan the QR with your phone, the app shows 240" remaining. You install a sedan (uses 68"), mark the job done, the system auto-deducts to 172". At 60" remaining you get a text: 'XPEL Prime 70 3M-14' is running low — reorder now.'
Questions
Good to know.
- What about ceramic coating bottles?
- Same system — track by ounce instead of inch. Bluetooth scale integration (premium) lets you just place the bottle down and it auto-records.
- Can I trace a roll back to a customer?
- Yes — every job records the roll-code. On the customer's warranty certificate, the specific batch is printed, meeting all major film brand requirements.
- Do I need a special printer for QR stickers?
- We support Brother QL-820NWB and QL-1110NWB out of the box (the industry standard for auto shops). Any thermal label printer with AirPrint works too.
- What happens if an installer forgets to scan?
- You can enforce scan-before-cut as a hard requirement, or soft-alert. The system also catches unusual deductions (unexpectedly high inches used) for your review.
- Does this work for multi-location shops?
- Yes. Each roll lives at one shop. Transfer rolls between shops with a full audit log. HQ sees aggregate inventory value across all locations in the HQ dashboard.
- How does cost-per-job reporting work?
- Every deducted inch carries the roll's cost basis. COGS for a job = sum of all material deductions + labor hours × rate. Gross margin shows on every invoice automatically.
