Tint shops historically lose 3-5% of film inventory to inaccurate manual tracking. SalesThumb's roll inventory closes that gap completely.
Receive a new roll
Settings → Inventory → Receive roll. Enter: - Brand + series (e.g. 3M Crystalline 70) - VLT % (e.g. 70%) - Length received (in linear feet) - Batch number (from the roll label) - Supplier - Per-foot cost - Optional: photo of the roll label
The system mints a unique QR code for the roll and prints it. Stick it to the cardboard core.
Use a roll on a job
When you start a job that requires that film: - Scan the QR with the mobile app → the roll opens - Enter linear feet used → it auto-deducts from the remaining length - Repeat for additional pulls until job is complete
Auto-deduct on completion
You can also configure SalesThumb to auto-deduct based on quote line items at job completion. Useful if you don't want techs scanning every pull. Trade-off: less accurate; recommended only for high-volume tint shops where individual roll tracking would slow throughput.
Stockout alerts
Settings → Inventory → Alerts. Set a per-SKU reorder threshold (e.g. "alert at 20 ft remaining"). When a roll hits the threshold, you get a Slack/email notification + a banner on the dashboard.
Inventory reports
/app/reports/inventory shows COGS per service, dead stock (rolls untouched in 90+ days), and shrinkage (expected vs actual remaining length).
